Strengths
- Spring Spirit Summoning grants all nearby party members the Icy Quill effect and deals Cryo DMG in different ways based on.
- Divine Maiden's Deliverance deals AoE Cryo DMG and creates a field that reduces Cryo and Physical RES of opponents within.
- Does the Support job with clear Cryo identity rather than vague flex value.
- Posts S-tier Spiral Abyss and S in Imaginary Theater on our content ratings strip.
Weaknesses
- Needs honest Energy Recharge or a battery friend before the kit feels smooth.
- Ceiling teams lean on limited partners, so a bare roster won't show the brochure damage.
Talent Priority
Crown priority on Shenhe: Elemental Skill. Most of their value scales here.
Shenhe follow-up talent: Elemental Burst supports the main damage/support loop.
Shenhe's Normal Attack can sit low; it barely moves clear times versus their other talents.
Substat Priority
Cast Skill then Burst each rotation.
Follow the recommended rotation for optimal Shenhe performance.

Noblesse Oblige to further boost her supportive side, especially since you want to get her Burst out to support your Cryo Main DPS. Her best weapon is Calamity Queller, which is also her signature weapon.

Team Compositions

Kamisato Ayaka
Main DPS

Ganyu
Support

Kaedehara Kazuha
Support

Shenhe
Sustain
This team is used whenever you cannot reliably freeze your target. As with the first team listed, Kazuha is the best option to use, however loads of Anemo characters can be used. Jean and Sayu can both heal which can be a benefit. In this team, Ayaka is the Main DPS so Ganyu and Shenhe want to funnel their supportive DMG into her.

Ayaka is the primary DPS, utilizing Shenhe's Icy Quill stacks to massively increase her Cryo Burst and Normal Attack damage. She provides the rapid hits necessary to consume Shenhe's buffs effectively.

Ganyu provides a 20% Cryo DMG buff within her Burst field and acts as a secondary DPS. Her Skill and Burst provide additional Cryo application and help battery the team.

Kazuha gathers enemies for Ayaka's Burst and provides a massive Cryo DMG% bonus via his Swirl passive. His VV shred is essential for maximizing the team's total Cryo output.

Shenhe provides the Icy Quill buff, which adds flat DMG to every Cryo hit based on her own ATK. Her Burst further reduces Cryo and Physical RES, making her the ultimate specialist for this team.
Talents & Constellations
Talents
Shenhe performs a sequence of Polearm-based Normal Attacks.
The frosted dew, silvery and dense, shall exorcise all demons. Grants all nearby party members the Icy Quill effect and deals Cryo DMG in different ways based on whether it is {LAYOUT_MOBILE#tapped}{LAYOUT_PC#pressed}{LAYOUT_PS#pressed} or held. {LAYOUT_MOBILE#Tap}{LAYOUT_PC#Press}{LAYOUT_PS#Press} Rushes forward together with a Talisman Spirit, dealing Cryo DMG to opponents along the path. Hold Commands the Talisman Spirit to deal AoE Cryo DMG. Icy Quill When Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks, Elemental Skills, and Elemental Bursts deal Cryo DMG to opponents, the DMG dealt is increased based on Shenhe's current ATK. The Icy Quill's effects will be cleared once its duration ends or after being triggered a certain number of times. When held rather than {LAYOUT_MOBILE#tapped}{LAYOUT_PC#pressed}{LAYOUT_PS#pressed}, the Icy Quill's effect lasts longer and can be triggered more times. When one Cryo DMG instance strikes multiple opponents, the effect is triggered multiple times based on the number of opponents hit. The number of times the effect is triggered is calculated independently for each party member with the Icy Quill. The power of the spirits is no falsehood. Burdened with her orders, the divine maiden hurries on!
Deals AoE Cryo DMG and creates a field that reduces Cryo and Physical RES of opponents within. The field also does periodic damage. Lasts for 12 seconds.

Alternatives to Shenhe
Not sure Shenhe is right for you? Compare against other characters to find your best pull.

Citlali answers with Dawnfrost Darkstar (provides Pyro RES Shred when Melt reactions are triggered and Hydro RES Shred when Freeze). Direct peer to Shenhe — pick whoever already matches your supports and comfort animations.

Qiqi's Adeptus Art: Herald of Frost generates HP for your own party members and nearby teammates, with healing scaled based on Qiqi's ATK. That's a Healer answer, while Shenhe is built as a Support.

Where Diona goes hard is Icy Paws: it fires an Icy Paw that deals Cryo DMG to opponents and forms a shield on hit. Pick Diona when you want Shield Support duty instead of Shenhe's Support pattern.

Where Layla goes hard is Nights of Formal Focus: it applies Shield and gains Night Stars periodically or when an Elemental Skill is used on another. Different job than Shenhe's Support slot — compare teams before swapping.
