Dehya vs Amber

Sturdy Pyro protector vs. the classic Pyro outrider

TL;DR — Quick Pick

Pick Dehya if…

  • When you need a Pyro character primarily for interruption resistance
  • In Ganyu 'Burnmelt' teams as a defensive utility
  • If you need a tanky unit to soak up heavy boss hits

Pick Amber if…

  • For early game puzzles and exploration
  • As a Noblesse Oblige / Elegy bot for specific speedruns
  • If you enjoy manual aimed-shot gameplay
Verdict

While Dehya has significant kit flaws, her damage mitigation and interruption resistance provide actual utility in niche teams. Amber remains largely relegated to overworld puzzles and extreme niche support roles.

Strengths & Weaknesses

Dehya

Strengths
  • Molten Inferno gain, performing a strong leap attack for a Pyro AoE strike.
  • Leonine Bite enter a Blazing Lionness state and perform continuous Pyro attacks with her fists, dealing AoE.
  • Natural fit for Pyro Support slots without forcing a weird team shape.
Weaknesses
  • Needs honest Energy Recharge or a battery friend before the kit feels smooth.
  • Ceiling teams lean on limited partners, so a bare roster won't show the brochure damage.

Amber

Strengths
  • Explosive Puppet puts a bunny out on the field that taunts the enemies and explodes once its duration is over or it.
  • Fiery Rain shoots an arrow up into the air and a shower of Pyro arrows fall back down dealing AoE Pyro DMG.
  • Does the Support job with clear Pyro identity rather than vague flex value.
Weaknesses
  • Needs honest Energy Recharge or a battery friend before the kit feels smooth.
  • Constellation breakpoints matter more than the C0 kit advertises.

Shared Team Members

With Dehya

Nahida enables a consistent Burning aura on enemies through her 'Seeds of Skandha,' which Dehya can then use to trigger Melt reactions with her Skill or Burst. The EM buff from Nahida's Burst also increases the damage of any Burgeon or Burning reactions Dehya might trigger. This pairing creates a stable elemental environment for Dehya to function as a reaction-based sub-DPS.

With Amber

Nahida's long-term Dendro application allows Amber to easily maintain a Burning aura on enemies, which can be useful for certain team compositions or artifact sets. Alternatively, Nahida's Dendro Cores can be detonated by Amber's 'Fiery Rain' Burst or Baron Bunny for easy Burgeon reactions. This synergy gives Amber more utility in Dendro-centric teams as a reaction trigger.
